The Frog Test
FROG test is required for:
- swimming in the Big Pool
- for all children under 12 years of age to participate in the Swim and Dive Teams
What is the FROG test?
- Successful completion of the Frog test requires both:
- A 50 Meter Freestyle swim with side breathing
- 2 minutes of treading water at the 25 Meter point
When can I take it?
The Frog Test is given at Martin’s Dam by a Manager during pool hours.
Who administers it?
Please ask the attendant at the front deck when a manager will be available to give the test.
Early Season
Practice sessions are organized by age group. Just show up at the designated time, and the coaches will take of the rest.
NOTE: Practices at this time of year can be chilly, so please pack extra towels and warm clothing in case we do dryland activities instead.
Time Trials
Time trials paired with coach discussions help us decide on which team a swimmer may be placed: Varsity or Junior Varsity.
Results will be sent to your email.
NOTE: If your child cannot make a time trial session, please reach out to one of the coaches to find a suitable time.
Practices
Overview
Practices take place in the morning, with swimmers divided into Varsity and Junior Varsity on separate sides of the pool.
Each session includes:
- Technique development
- Core strength building
